• 1974: Trained at Fachschule für Optik und Fototechnik (technical college for optics and photo technology)
• up to 1978: Worked as a cameraman
• 1978–1984: Studied Visual Communication at HdK Berlin (today Berlin University of the Arts, UdK)
• 1984: Graduated as a Master Student of Experimental Graphics under Professor Helmut Lortz
• 1985-present: Freelance graphic designer
• 1989: Founded the studio with Florian Adler, co-managing partner up to 2013
• 2010: Lecturer for Free Drawing at Beuth University of Applied Sciences, Berlin
• 2011–present: Solo and group exhibitions in Berlin, Cologne and Bregenz
• 2017–present: Senior Consultant at adlerschmidt

Hans-Peter also gives talks at institutions such as Werkbund Rheinland-Pfalz, HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences and Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle. He has been devoting more attention to his artistic activities since 2011.
